The Follow up workshop (Final conference) of the project “let us participate” was held online on 13.12.2021

Meeting was partipated by all the organizations taking part in the projet.  After the registration and the  welcome with presentation of the objectives of the meeting by the leader of the project Confsal the meeting started with the:

Introductory input: EWCs role in the cross-border corporate restructuring

Moderator – Dominik Owczarek (Institute of Public Affairs) – introduced the agenda of the final conference and key project objectives discussed during the panel discussions. The final results of the research project were presented. Following issues were elaborated on: methodology, research questions, scope of the research  (project activities, Cross-Border Mergers Directive 2005/56/EC, EU Directive 2017/1132/EC relating to certain aspects of company law, Directive 2019/2121 amending Directive (EU) 2017/1132 as regards cross-border conversions, mergers and divisions, Directive EU 94/45/WE, Directive EU 2009/38/WE (Recast), board-level employee representation mechanisms regulated at national level), key results). Also action plan was presented – recommendations are structured in three general parts: legislation and enforcement, social partners actions, studies and dissemination. Panel session I

The presentation outlining the key results of the project was followed by two panel sessions. The first one was dedicated to the issue “European level of social dialogue in cross-border restructuring – goals achieved?” in which representatives of three partners were taking the floor: Marianna Caiazzo (CONFSAL, Italy), Barbora Majdisova (FIC, Denmark) and the project partners.

 

Panel session II

After the break the second panel session was conducted entitled “Limitations of the EWC and BLER mechanisms – Challenges for the future”. The following partners presented their input: Emilia Martin Sanchez (FETICO, Spain), Stanisław Młynarczyk (FZZMH, Poland) and Vasco (Macedonia).

 

Presentation of the video recordings

Final session was dedicated to presentation of two video recording on BLER and EWC mechanism consisting of statements recorded during the online workshop. Both videos are available under the following link: http://letusparticipate.com/video#   Partners were asked to disseminate the video recordings and the final report including the Impulse document and the Action plan.

Summary of the meeting

The project leader – closed the meeting by thanking the partners for their contribution to the study. She also expressed the need to continue cooperation in the future and the need to deepen research on the analysed topic.
